Heat Treatment

Vacuum Hardening

With our computer-controlled vertical and horizontal vacuum furnaces,

vacuum hardening,
vacuum stress relieving,
vacuum normalizing

processes are carried out.

Our furnaces ensure temperature uniformity through convection heating and minimize distortion with controlled cooling. They are computer-controlled, allowing traceability and continuous reporting. With their recording system, they provide stability for your specially repeatable processes.

For metal injection molds, NADCA criteria are applied as a basis.

Note: In our vertical furnace, long parts can be hardened with low deformation. For further details, please contact our technical team for more information.

Vacuum Carburizing

Advantages of Low Pressure Vacuum Carburizing compared to other methods:

Its primary advantages are short process times thanks to the high carbon (%C) concentration of acetylene gas and the patented DualTherm® process.
Surface oxidation, which is commonly seen in gas carburizing processes, does not occur at all. This feature provides high fatigue strength.
Uniform carburized case depth.

Vacuum Oil Quenching

The oil quenching process is carried out in a fully computer-controlled ALD DualTherm® vacuum furnace, preventing surface oxidation and decarburization.

This furnace is equipped with nitrogen-atmosphere convection heating to ensure temperature uniformity. In addition, with ALD’s “Dynamic Quenching®” method, cooling parameters can be fully controlled, enabling high mechanical strength values with reduced distortion.

Stress Relieving

This process is used to reduce the internal stresses of a part that retains residual stress as a result of welding, forming, machining, etc.

It is also applied to relieve internal stresses resulting from hardening processes. For this process, our furnaces of various sizes are available according to your requirements. Akademi Metalurji carefully carries out all stress relieving processes in computer-controlled furnaces.

Normalizing

This method involves heating materials to the austenitizing temperature to complete the required structural transformations, and then cooling them sufficiently slowly to allow transformation into their natural room-temperature structure.

For this process, we provide services in furnaces of different sizes according to your requirements.

Gas Nitriding

Nitriding is a thermochemical surface treatment applied at low temperatures. The nitriding process increases the wear resistance of materials and also improves certain mechanical properties.

Akademi Metalurji provides services to its customers with Kn-controlled furnaces. With Kn control, the desired case layers are achieved in a controlled manner. The advantages we offer in nitriding are:

  • Low distortion
  • Reliable and repeatable processes
  • Option for a white-layer-free process upon request
  • Shortened process time option
  • Homogeneous nitrided layer independent of geometry

Note: In our vertical furnace, nitriding can be applied to long parts with low deformation. For further details, please contact our technical team for more information.
